I hope that everyone is having and safe and healthy start to the holiday season. Governor Mike
Parson announced on Thursday, November 12, 2020 changes to the state guidance related to
identifying close contacts in a school setting. Our goal is to keep students in person learning and
teaching.

Portageville School District has implemented a mask mandate to limit the number of students
being quarantined as a close contact to a person diagnosed with COVID-19. This will begin
December 1, 2020.

Our goal is to implement these changes pertaining to the mask mandate and limit the amount of
students being placed in quarantine. Our intentions for this year were to fully reopen and continue
to remain reopened while providing a safe and healthy learning environment for students and staff.

Portageville School District has newly updated COVID-19 information on our website at
www.portageville.k12.mo.us. Please feel free to view this valuable information and other district
information.

Respectfully,

Mr. Michael Allred, Superintendent
Portageville School District
